Ask most luxury houses what they sell and they will describe the garment. Ask us and we will describe the fit. A beautiful dress that does not sit correctly on your body is not beautiful — it is a near miss. That is why every INHAUTECOUTURE order includes complimentary alterations, and why we consider the fitting, not the sale, the moment the piece is truly finished.
Ready-to-wear was never made for you
Standard sizing is an average — a compromise designed to fit as many bodies as possible and, therefore, no single body perfectly. Bust, waist, hips and height rarely arrive in the same "size." The result, for most women, is a wardrobe of pieces that are almost right: a little long, a touch loose at the waist, a strap that never quite sits. Almost right is not good enough for the night that matters.
Finished to your measurements
When you order, you can share your measurements and fit notes — at checkout, or with our team by email or WhatsApp. Before your piece ships, our atelier adjusts it to you: taking in or letting out for a closer line, shortening a hem, adjusting straps and sleeves, refining the length to your height. Why we include it
Complimentary alteration is not a promotion; it is a position. A house that believes in one-of-one design cannot, in good conscience, ship those pieces to be worn ill-fitting. Charging extra to make a garment fit correctly would be charging extra for it to be finished at all. So we simply build the fitting into every order. It is, quietly, one of the most couture things we do.
How to get the best result
Share four numbers and one preference. Bust at the fullest part, waist at the narrowest, hips at the fullest, and your height — plus any fit preference, such as a closer bodice or a specific length. If you are between sizes, our guidance is almost always to size up: it is far easier, and far cleaner, to take a piece in than to let it out.
